Energy suppliers are being probed by energy regulator Ofgem to determine whether or not customers are being given a fair deal. This move is a welcome progression, as it is showing the awareness that smaller firms need more protection than bigger firms from being ripped off by some energy suppliers. Ofgem will discover, from detailed information that is not routinely available, whether or not energy suppliers are acting fairly towards smaller businesses.
