There are a number of legislative measures deriving from the UN Human Rights framework recently drawn up in the UK to ensure that children are protected from harm. Most of these came into effect in April this year with local authorities having the responsibility, along with the police and schools, to oversee their implementation. A holistic, ecological approach to child protection is recommended.
