This article is based on a simple conversation with a midwife from Iran. She has recently immigrated to Canada, where she hopes to offer her children a taste of freedom. This woman shares with us her cases where child sexual abuse and rape has to be kept secret. Many young Iranian female who were brought to this midwife because they were pregnant testified that they were raped by their fathers, brothers, uncles, or other males in their home environment. Now that they were pregnant the evidence had to be wiped out. This is a story about many young girls in Iran who are left to the hands of men who choose to sexually exploit a child, because they are not men enough to seek sexual relationship with an adult.
