A leopard can't change his spots overnight and even if by some miracle he can, he shouldn't. Changes generally produce better results if they're done gradually, giving the person making those changes time to adjust and accept the consequences of his actions. If you've decided to try out volunteering for whatever reason, there's no need to give up your entire social life right away.
