The new buzz word going around the tourism industry is "voluntourism". The trend for people visiting developing countries means that many tourists would prefer to spend at least part of their vacation doing an activity that is personally enriching and in some way helps out a local community. Volunteer Africa programs that allow people short-term volunteer opportunities are being offered by organizations that send volunteer forces to Africa.
