Throughout the years, the Houston Fire Department has expressed that the residents of Houston must take a proactive approach in lessening fire damage. One concrete and simple way of doing this is by not placing candles near curtains or any furniture that is flammable. Another way is by making sure that fire extinguishers are nearby fire hazards such as the kitchen, laundry area and generators.
